After another successful event in Australia, LIV Golf is back this week in Singapore. LIV Golf Singapore marks the second time in as many years that the 54-hole course will travel to the country and represents the final league event before the second major of the season, the PGA Championship.
It will be in Valhalla in two weeks’ time that Smash GC captain Brooks Koepka will defend his Wanamaker Trophy. The five-times major champion didn’t get off to the fast start he saw in 2023 before winning at Oak Hill, but he may have shown signs of what was to come with a quality outing at last week’s LIV Golf Adelaide.
Koepka will be hoping to build on the momentum he gained at The Grange ahead of his key save. Meanwhile, Cameron Smith’s Ripper GC emerged victorious in a playoff over Louis Oosthuizen’s Stinger GC in the league’s first team playoff. The Australian team achieved their first victory together at home and intends to maintain the good momentum this week.
Meanwhile, two-time major champion Jon Rahm remains in good form but doesn’t have an individual crown to show for it. The world number 5 is positioning himself and is among the favorites to take home the trophy before targeting his third different major championship.
Torque GC’s Joaquin Niemann remains in good form, as does Crushers GC’s Bryson DeChambeau. Dustin Johnson will look to lean on his teammate Patrick Reed as his 4 Aces sink into the season standings with just six tournaments to go.
