2024 PGA Championship odds, predictions, picks: Tiger Woods projection from golf model that nailed the Masters

Although he has little chance of winning this year, no player transforms the feeling of a major championship like Tiger Woods. Woods is a 15-time major champion and is expected to be part of the 2024 PGA Championship field when play begins at Valhalla Golf Club on Thursday, May 16. Woods has won the PGA Championship four times in his career, the most recent coming in 2007. The latest 2024 PGA Championship odds list Woods at 125-1, the same as Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia.

Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 player in the world, is the 2024 PGA Championship favorite at 3-1, followed by Jon Rahm (10-1), Rory McIlroy (12-1), Ludvig Aberg (12-1) and current champion Brooks Koepka (12-1). Before securing your 2024 PGA Championship picks or Tiger Woods accessories, be sure to see golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

Our proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been on a roll since the PGA Tour restarted in June 2020. In fact, the model has won nearly $10,000 on its best bets since the restart, winning tournament after tournament.

McClure’s model correctly predicted that Scottie Scheffler would finish atop the leaderboard at the 2024 Masters, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship this season. McClure also included Hideki Matsuyama in his best bets to win the 2024 Genesis Invitational. That bet hit +9,000, and throughout the tournament, McClure’s best bets returned nearly $1,000.

The model also predicted that Jon Rahm would be victorious in the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model scored the second major victory of Rahm’s career over the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead in the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the model’s second consecutive victory at the Masters, which also guaranteed Scheffler’s victory in 2022.

Additionally, McClure’s best bets included Nick Taylor (70-1) winning the 2023 RBC Canadian Open, Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson and Rickie Fowler (14-1) finishing at the top of the table 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic rankings.

This same model also hit 11 majors entering the weekend and has reached the Masters three years in a row. Anyone who followed it saw massive returns.

Now with the 2024 PGA Championship field taking shape, SportsLine has simulated the tournament 10,000 times and the results have been surprising. Visit SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.

Top 2024 PGA Championship Predictions

A big surprise: Collin Morikawa, with a 22-1 chance, has a good campaign for the title. He is a target for anyone looking for a big payday. Morikawa had a lot of success in major championships early in his career. He is a two-time major champion and is coming off a third-place finish at the Masters in April.

After missing the cut in two of his first five PGA Tour starts in 2024, Morikawa appears to be bouncing back ahead of the year’s second major. He has finished in the top 10 in his last two starts, thanks in large part to his putting. The 27-year-old entered the month of May ranked 12th in stroke percentage (44.27%), 12th in strokes per round (28.00) and 18th in stroke average (1.717). Given his current odds and past performances in majors, the model projects great value in including Morikawa in your 2024 PGA Championship bets.

The model also examined where Tiger Woods ends up. Woods is the No. 801 player in the Official World Golf Ranking and has only made seven world starts in the past two years after suffering leg injuries in a car accident in February 2021.

Woods only finished four of those tournaments and putting together four rounds was a daunting task because of the toll his body had taken over the years. However, he extended his streak at Augusta to an all-time record 24 last month. Valhalla is another course where he will have an advantage in most areas when it comes to course knowledge. He is a four-time winner of the PGA Championship and was runner-up in this event in 2018. The model just finalized his Tiger Woods PGA Championship picks here..

The model also targets three other golfers with odds greater than 20-1 for a strong title run. Anyone who supports these longshot hypotheses could hit big. You can only see the model choices here.
