Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight: Date, rumors, undercard, rules, odds, start time, location, complete guide

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is really happening. Netflix enters the fighting game for the first time to host the bizarre boxing crossover.

Paul, 27, and Tyson, 57, are set to take part in an exhibition boxing match at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on November 15. The fight will be broadcast globally on Netflix, but will not have a PPV price. Tyson’s legend and vast experience consider him a modest underdog. What Paul lacks in longevity he must make up for with youth, commitment and a skilled team behind him.

The fight was originally scheduled for July 20, but Tyson suffered a medical issue related to an ulcer that forced the postponement.

The fight will also be official and sanctioned by the Texas commission. The fight will have eight two-minute rounds with gloves slightly larger than normal.

Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) is committed to boxing. The YouTuber started boxing with other social media stars before becoming a UFC fighter and champion by testing the sweet science. Paul recently moved away from beating smaller, older MMA fighters like Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz and went down a more traditional development path. Paul scored consecutive knockout victories over unknown boxers before Tyson’s announcement.

Tyson (50-6-2 NC, 44 KOs) hasn’t boxed publicly since his 2020 showing against legend Roy Jones Jr. It’s often said that power is the last thing he lacks and “Iron” Mike will need it against an opponent 30 years younger. The former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion is the greatest of all time, with victories over Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks.

The undercard will feature a fantastic rematch when Katie Taylor puts her undisputed super lightweight title on the line against Amanda Serrano. The two women were the first to headline an event at Madison Square Garden in April 2022, where Taylor won a split decision to retain her undisputed lightweight titles. Now, the two will meet in a weight class after Taylor defeated Chantelle Cameron by majority decision in November to win the titles.

The original July date was also set to feature two other fights. Former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was expected to return on this card facing former UFC title challenger Darren Till in the cruiserweight division. Chávez Jr., 38, hasn’t fought since December 2021, when he bounced back from a loss to former UFC champion Anderson Silva to defeat David Zegarra. Till has lost four of his last five UFC fights and has not fought since his submission loss to Dricus Du Plessis in December 2022. The other fight announced for the card was a lightweight clash between top prospects Floyd Schofield and Ashton Sylve.

Although Taylor x Serrano is confirmed for the new date, promoters have not yet said whether the other two fights will also be moved.
