The College Football Playoff is tripling in size to 12 teams for the 2024-25 season and will further occupy the sport’s postseason discourse. But traditional bowl games aren’t going anywhere, and college football fans will have plenty of non-CFP action to enjoy throughout December and early January.
The full 2024-25 college football bowl schedule was announced Thursday, which includes a full menu of bowl games between FBS opponents that are not part of the CFP. The action begins on December 14th and will continue until January 4th with the Bahamas Bowl. Of course, there will be college football later than never this year, as the CFP National Championship won’t be played until January 20th.
One downside to note in the 2024-25 bowl season is that former Pac-12 schools that are now members of the ACC, Big 12 and Big Ten still maintain their previous bowl affiliations, according to a Action News Network report. Therefore, if a bowl has already tied with the Pac-12, those bowls will pick the former league members when the matchups are announced on December 8th.
CBS will continue airing the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl. The Kick is scheduled for 2pm on December 31st in El Paso, Texas.
