The Wanamaker Trophy and a substantial winner’s check will be awarded on Sunday at Valhalla Golf Club to the winner of the 2024 PGA Championship. Increasing the prize for the PGA Championship by $1 million over the previous year, the PGA of America will shell out the largest prize in the history of its championship, with a total prize pool of US$18.5 million.
A grand prize of $3.3 million will be awarded to the ultimate winner in Louisville, with seven figures also being paid to golfers who finish on the podium but fall short. Every player in the top 10 by the end of the championship will take home at least $500,000, with everyone in the top 31 cashing a check in excess of $100,000.
The payouts fall slightly short of those for the 2024 Masters and exclusive PGA Tour events – both with purses of $20 million. Scottie Scheffler earned $3.6 million for capturing his second green jacket, and that wasn’t even his biggest payday of the season, as he collected $4 million at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and $4.5 million at the Players Championship.
Not only will those who spent the weekend leave their stay in Kentucky with some green to show for it, but also those who missed the cut. All players who ace a total of 36 holes will receive $4,000 for their troubles.

Players who miss the cut and post a 36-hole score will receive $4,000 each. Any player who makes the cut but fails to submit a 72-hole score will also receive $4,000.
