2024 U.S. Open odds, golf picks: Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy predictions from model that nailed the Masters, PGA

The 2024 US Open begins on Thursday, June 13 at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina. The third major of the year offers 22 qualifying criteria, and Tiger Woods did not meet any of them due to his inactivity and results in recent years. However, the 15-time Major winner was granted a special exemption into the 2024 US Open field, which he readily accepted. Although it has been five years since Woods reached the top 25 in any major, he finished second and third in his two previous U.S. Open starts at No. 2 Pinehurst.

Still, Woods is a longshot at 125-1 at the 2024 U.S. Open odds, just ahead of longtime rival Phil Mickelson (150-1). Scottie Scheffler is the 4-1 favorite, with Rory McIlroy (9-1) the only other golfer at single-digit odds at the 2024 US Open. US Open star Brooks Koepka is 12-1 to deploy 2024 US Open predictions. Before locking in your 2024 US Open picks or entering any PGA DFS tournaments on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel, make sure -thirst see golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

Our proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been on a roll since the PGA Tour restarted in June 2020. In fact, the model has won nearly $9,000 on its best bets since the restart, winning tournament after tournament.

McClure’s model correctly predicted that Scottie Scheffler would finish atop the leaderboard at the 2024 Masters, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship this season. McClure also included Hideki Matsuyama in his best bets to win the 2024 Genesis Invitational. That bet hit +9,000, and throughout the tournament, McClure’s best bets returned nearly $1,000.

The model also predicted that Jon Rahm would be victorious in the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model scored the second major victory of Rahm’s career over the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead in the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the model’s second consecutive victory at the Masters, which also guaranteed Scheffler’s victory in 2022.

This same model also nailed 12 majors heading into the weekend, including three consecutive Masters and the 2024 PGA Championship. Anyone who followed it saw massive returns.

2024 US Open predictions for Brooks Koepka, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy

A shock that the model is asking for at the US Open 2024: Brooks Koepka (12-1), five-time major winner and US Open champion in 2017 and 2018, struggles and barely makes it into the top 10. Koepka’s last big victory came at the 2023 PGA Championship, but has not come close to winning another major since. He placed outside the top 25 in the first two majors this year and is on a streak of four majors without even finishing in the top 10, which ties the longest drought without a top 10 in his career.

Koepka has had a lot of success in recent international tournaments, but has struggled domestically. In his last 10 matches in the United States, none have resulted in a top 10 finish, despite many of them having smaller fields where it would be easier to climb the leaderboard. Furthermore, Koepka has played against Pinehurst No. 2 once before and has only managed to break par just once in his four rounds of play. See who else will disappear here.

The model also fixed its projection for Tiger Woods (125-1), a 15-time major winner. This will be Woods’ first US Open match since 2020, when he shot 10-over par and missed the cut. Since then, he has made six starts in the majors, making two cuts, missing two cuts and withdrawing twice. He missed the cut in his last start at the PGA Championship, but also noticed a physical improvement in how he felt, saying, “I need to clean up my rounds, but I also know physically, yes, I’m better than I was a month ago.”

With another month having passed since that comment, Woods should, theoretically, be in even better physical shape for the US Open. Its past success at Pinehurst should also bring optimism with two first-place finishes on the course when it hosted the U.S. Open in 1999 and 2005. It has been 10 years since Pinehurst No. 2 has hosted any PGA Tour event at either the U.S. Open 2024 course. will be competing for the first time. Woods’ experience on the course cannot be overlooked, so he will try to lean on that rather than his recent results in the specialties. See where each golfer finishes here.

On the other hand, the model examined the chances of Rory McIlroy (9-1) winning his second US Open following his victory in 2011. The Irishman was runner-up in this tournament last year, which extended his top 10 streak at the US Open for five years. He played Pinehurst at the 2014 US Open and was in the top 10 going into the weekend before shooting seven over par in the final two rounds to finish 23rd.

McIlroy has two wins on tour this year, capturing the Zurich Classic team event and a signature tournament at the Wells Fargo Championship. However, it has been in a boom or bust period, as it only has two other top 10 finishes this season, making it four in total. With the season already halfway over, McIlroy apparently won’t come close to the 13 top 10s he had last year. His win at Wells Fargo is his only top-10 finish in a major or signature event this season, so McIlroy will look to raise his game to be in contention at Pinehurst.
