The seventh signature event of the PGA Tour season is in its final round, with the 2024 Memorial Tournament taking center stage at Muirfield Village. While the Memorial marks one of the last big-money tournaments on the PGA Tour schedule, it also kicks off a highly profitable three-week period in professional golf.
A total of $60 million will be up for grabs between the Memorial, the US Open and the Travelers Championship – two unique events surrounding the third major of the season – over the next three weeks. Muirfield Village finally welcomed 73 players this week, and it was once again Scottie Scheffler who claimed victory in a major tournament and brought home a big check to go with it.
Scheffler, back in form after some recent setbacks, won for the fifth time in his last eight events. Those five wins are the most in a single season for any PGA Tour golfer since 2017 (Justin Thomas), and given what’s left on the calendar, Scheffler now has the opportunity to join the rare eight-win club.
What he has already accomplished, however, is setting a new record for PGA Tour earnings in a single season. Earning $4 million for his victory at the Memorial, Scheffler has already claimed more than $24 million this season – $3 million more than he earned in 2023, when he last set the PGA Tour earnings record.
The $4 million paid to Scheffler matched the amount up for grabs at the Genesis Invitational and Arnold Palmer Invitational on the PGA Tour calendar. And if Scheffler stays on the heater, he could clear nearly eight figures in the coming weeks.
All players in the top 11 won $500,000, while all players in the top 21 won more than $250,000 and the top 50 took home at least $52,000.
Let’s take a look at the 2024 Memorial Tournament payout list.
