Top US Open Predictions for 2024

A big surprise: Justin Thomas, with a 35-1 chance, has a good campaign for the title. He is a target for anyone looking for a big payday. Thomas has a notable history at the US Open, as he made his major debut here in 2014, tied the main round record with a score of 63 at the 2017 US Open, and posted the lowest round (65) on record in the major when played at Winged Foot in 2020. Thomas is a two-time major champion, so he has proven himself on this type of stage and is coming off a strong showing last month at the PGA Championship.

Thomas finished eighth in that tournament, which ended a streak of seven consecutive major matches in which he finished 37th or worse. Thomas’ touch with the irons and wedges should give him the edge at Pinehurst, which has firm, fast conditions. He ranks in the top 12 in the strokes gained categories: tee-to-green (1.398), approach to the green (.697) and around the green (.445). With Thomas also ranked fourth in birdie average (4.43), and playing on a course where breaking par is a major achievement, he is a golfer to utilize in PGA Tour betting.
