Scottie Scheffler has exploded onto the scene since joining the PGA Tour in 2020. He has recorded 11 wins on the tour, including five in 2024. He won his second major championship at the Masters in April and will enter the 2024 Travelers Championship as the betting favorite. According to the latest 2024 Travelers Championship odds, Scheffler is the 4-1 favorite (risk $100 to win $400). The world’s No. 1 player is followed by Xander Schauffele (15-2), Ludvig Aberg (16-1) and Collin Morikawa (16-1) on the PGA odds board.
Other top contenders at the 2024 Travelers Championship include Viktor Hovland (22-1) and Patrick Cantlay (25-1). If your 2024 Travelers Championship bets include betting on Scheffler to finish at the top of the leaderboard, or someone with a long shot like Justin Thomas (35-1), Jordan Spieth (50-1) or Keegan Bradley (55-1 ) will win at TPC River Planalto? Before securing your 2024 Travelers Championship picks or Scottie Scheffler accessories, be sure to see golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.
Our proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been trending in your PGA Tour picks over the past few years. In fact, the model is up nearly $9,500 on its best bets since June 2020, winning tournament after tournament.
McClure’s model predicted Scheffler would finish atop the leaderboard at the 2024 Masters, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship this season. McClure also included Hideki Matsuyama in his best bets to win the 2024 Genesis Invitational. That bet hit +9,000, and throughout the tournament, McClure’s best bets returned nearly $1,000!
McClure’s best bets also included Bryson DeChambeau winning the 2024 US Open at +1800 odds and the model correctly predicted his second big win of the weekend. And at the 2024 PGA Championship, the model correctly called Xander Schauffele’s first major championship over the weekend.
The model also predicted that Jon Rahm would be victorious in the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model scored the second major victory of Rahm’s career over the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead in the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner.
Additionally, McClure’s best bets included Nick Taylor (70-1) winning the 2023 RBC Canadian Open, Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson and Rickie Fowler (14-1) finishing at the top of the table 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic rankings.
This same model hit 13 majors over the weekend, including the 2024 Masters – its third consecutive Masters – and this year’s PGA Championship and US Open. Anyone who followed it saw massive returns.
Now with the 2024 Travelers Championship field taking shape, SportsLine has simulated the tournament 10,000 times and the results have been surprising. Visit SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.
Top Travelers Championship predictions for 2024
A big surprise: Corey Conners, a 50-1 big shot, has a strong run for the title. He is a target for anyone looking for a big payday.
The 32-year-old Canadian doesn’t explode as much as some of the other top competitors, but he is extremely effective with an iron in his hands. In fact, Conners enters the Travelers Championship ranked second in strokes gained: approach to green (0.920) and sixth on greens in regulation percentage (70.37%). He has also finished T-13 or better in four of his last six starts, which includes a top-10 showing at last week’s U.S. Open. These impressive statistics, plus his long odds, make Conners a strong bet for your 2024 Travelers Championship bets.
The model also examined where Scheffler ends up. Scheffler finished T4 at the Travelers Championship last season and has won five tournaments this season. He is coming off his worst performance of the year, barely making it through before finishing T41 in 8th place at the US Open last week.
The 27-year-old won the Masters and the RBC Heritage in April before adding a T8 at the PGA Championship and a T2 at the Charles Schwab Challenge. He took his fifth victory of the year at the Memorial Tournament at 8 under before his failure in the third major of the year. Scheffler leads the PGA Tour in total strokes gained, scoring average and birdie average, so he is considered one of the top threats to win the Travelers. The model has just finalized her Scottie Scheffler Travelers Championship picks here.
How to make picks for the 2024 Travelers Championship
The model also targets four other golfers with odds of 22-1 or better to make a strong run at the title, and McClure’s best bets include a massive triple-digit chance. Anyone who supports these longshot hypotheses could hit big. You can only see the model choices here.
