The Premier League season has come to an end City of Manchester secured fourth consecutive league title by two points over Arsenal. It’s a record title as an English team has never won four top-flight titles in a row, but Pep Guardiola’s City team set a new standard. With his sixth title at just 23 years old Phil Foden He also became the youngest player to achieve this feat in the Premier League and was instrumental in City getting the job done.
Scoring two goals to push City forward West Ham United, Foden showed why he was named Premier League Player of the Season after scoring 19 goals and assisting eight more. It’s Foden’s best attacking season in a City shirt and it’s not over yet. City will have a chance to do the double when they go to Wembley to face Manchester United in the FA Cup final next weekend.
We know City made history, but what was the rest of the table like?

Qualification for the Champions League
Qualified: Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa
Although three of these vacancies have been known for some time, Aston Villa have had to wait a while to announce their return to European football under Unai Emery. A big drought ends as Villa have not qualified for the Champions League since the 1982-83 season. Upon leaving, Jurgen Klopp also took Liverpool back into the Champions League after a season-long absence to ensure Arnie Slot is in the strongest possible position when he takes charge next season. For Arsenal and Manchester City, they are among the contenders for next season’s Champions League title.
Qualification for the Europa League
Qualified for the Europa League: Tottenham
Qualified for Europa League or Europa Conference League: Chelsea
On the hunt: Newcastle United, Manchester United
Due to the FA Cup final in which Manchester United will participate, the European places are not yet defined. A Manchester United or Newcastle United will be left out of the mix as if Manchester United win the FA Cup they will go into the Europa League. This impacts Chelsea because it would see them play in the Conference League next season. If Manchester City win the FA Cup final, Chelsea will go to the Europa League, while Newcastle United will go to the Europa Conference League. The teams had the chance to catch Tottenham on the final day, but taking care of business against Sheffield United means they are the only team secure in their European position despite the season being completed.
Relegation
Lowered: Luton Town, Burnley, Sheffield United
We barely know the newly promoted teams, as they will all return to the league after this season, with none of the trio having scored 30 points. Sheffield United set a record for most goals conceded with 104, but gained enough points to not secure the worst points tally in league history. Some of their players may end up back in the Premier League, but it is important to note that if a team does not have enough resources to compete with the top teams, their stay may be short.
