WWE WrestleMania 40 — Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes: Night 2 card, rumors, matches, start time, location, date

We’ve arrived at the biggest wrestling event of the year. WrestleMania 40 is set for Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday and Sunday, and this year’s event actually has some old-school heat.

The biggest match of the weekend will see WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns face off against Cody Rhodes in the main event of Night 2, as Rhodes looks to “finish history” after falling short a year ago. Reigns will have the clear advantage in the match after he and The Rock defeated Rhodes and Seth Rollins on Night 1, paving the way for the match to be under “Bloodline Rules”. That means anything goes, with a lot of expectations on The Rock, Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso trying to interfere and retain the title with the “Tribal Chief”.

Rollins, meanwhile, has his own issues to deal with as the world heavyweight champion will put his title on the line against the sizzling Drew McIntyre. Additionally, CM Punk, who returned to the Royal Rumble only to suffer an injury, will be on commentary for the match and will likely play a major role. Additionally, the WWE Women’s Championship is on the line when Iyo Sky takes on Bayley. Sky and her Damage CTRL teammates kicked Bayley out of the group she helped form and now Bayley wants revenge. The final title fight on Sunday will see United States Champion Logan Paul forced to defend his title against two opponents as he takes on Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.

Plus, there are always a surprise or two along the way, where legends return or celebrities appear.

Let’s take a look at the full card for WrestleMania 40, which will stream live on Peacock on April 7th starting at 7pm ET. Note: This is not the official order of games for each night, just a list of which games will take place on each day.

2024 WWE WrestleMania 40 Night 2 matches

WWE Undisputed Universal Championship – Roman Reigns (c) vs. For the second year in a row, it’s Reigns vs. Rhodes at WrestleMania. After winning the Royal Rumble again, Rhodes made it clear that he would seek out Reigns to “finish the story.” That plan was put to rest when Rhodes walked away and handed Reigns’ match to The Rock. Fan reaction to the idea of Rhodes’ two-year storyline was strong and it appears that led to WWE going back to Rhodes getting his match with Reigns. At the start of WrestleMania 40, Reigns and Rock celebrated their upcoming match, with Rock suddenly on good terms with Reigns. Rhodes interrupted, said he was the one making the decision, not Reigns, and said he would go after the Tribal Chief. The Rock later announced that Rhodes would never again receive a WWE Undisputed Title shot if he lost to Reigns.

WWE Women’s Championship – Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bayley was the winner of this year’s women’s Royal Rumble. Now, she faces one of her former Damage CTRL teammates on Sky. Despite creating Damage CTRL, Bayley had been away from the group for some time. As Bayley suggested challenging Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Title, Nia Jax intervened and scared her, leading Bayley to challenge Sky and fight all of Damage CTRL.

United States Championship – Logan Paul (c) x Randy Orton x Kevin Owens: Paul is going to be very busy. The US Champion shunned SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis due to his inability to find him a WrestleMania opponent, so Aldis found him two. Paul will defend his title in a triple match against Orton and Owens. The social media influencer has long had issues with Owens. Paul got on Orton’s bad side after costing him a world title opportunity at WrestleMania by laying him down with brass knuckles at Elimination Chamber.

LA Knight vs. Styles The feud between Knight and Styles has been simmering since Styles returned to action in December. Styles took issue with Knight’s rise to stardom, which coincided with Styles’ hiatus at the hands of The Bloodline. Styles accused Knight of stepping over his cold body and taking away everything he was entitled to. Styles cost Knight a world heavyweight title match at Elimination Chamber. Knight has been on a manhunt ever since. Knight presented the challenge to Styles on the March 15 episode of SmackDown. Accepted styles with steel chair back.

The Final Testament (Karrion Kross and Pain Authors) vs. Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) (Philadelphia Street Fight): The two factions have been fighting for months. Final Testament cost Street Profits a spot in the undisputed tag team title six-pack ladder match at WrestleMania. Kross berated Lashley for letting his pride get in the way of his students’ success and bragged about crushing the Street Profits’ WrestleMania dreams. WWE announced a Philadelphia Street Fight between the two factions, a fitting way to end their long-running rivalry.

World Heavyweight Championship – Seth Rollins (c) vs. McIntyre has been on fire lately, calling out anyone who questions his methods. These methods have involved increasingly opportunistic behavior as he seeks to become a world champion once again. McIntyre took advantage of another situation when Logan Paul, already eliminated, knocked out Randy Orton with brass knuckles in the Elimination Chamber, allowing McIntyre to score the pin and punch his ticket to a fight with Rollins at WrestleMania.
